Welcome to Bayou Glass Arts™. A little about me… most folks would say I am outgoing, speak before thinking, interrupt occasionally (okay, a lot) am passionate and quirky. The good and the bad. I love coming up with new ideas in jewelry. Especially the kind that make people stop, point, and say, “Wait… what is that exactly?” Those are my favorite moments… when something that was never meant to be jewelry suddenly becomes wearable and sparks a conversation.
I began making glass jewelry at my dining room table in 2009. Since then, it has wandered its way into boutiques, galleries, magazines, and homes across the country and beyond. I am a self taught jewelry artisan who is endlessly curious and forever chasing new ideas. From the first flicker of a thought to the moment it becomes real, that whole journey is what I love. Jewelry just happens to be how those ideas show up in the world.
Every piece of Bayou Glass Arts jewelry is one of a kind and designed and handmade in my home studio. Most pieces begin with real glass, much of which I cut and shape by hand, then frame using a soft solder technique made from tin, copper, and silver. Along the way I work with pressed flowers, dandelion seeds, gemstones, vintage finds, old piano keys, bits of china, and whatever small treasure catches my eye that day.
