I love the size of this ring - it's not overpowering but not too small, either. The beading/scrollwork design is classic, and I think you could wear it either casually or as an occasion ring. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I thought the ring would be a little more vivid of a blue and it's a more of a washed-out, grey-blue color.

I have two lilac trees on my property. One produces light colored lilacs, and the other dark lilacs. I love them both, and while I do feel the ring is well represented by the photo on this site, the stone appears to be more of a dark lilac when on the finger and there's no light behind it to show off the color. Sometimes it's hard to tell it's an amethyst.

"Maharashtra Princess" is a beautiful piece of jewelry and a creative work of art. My husband is particularly fond of the way the large multifaceted amethyst stone glistens in the light, and I'm fascinated with the intricate bead and wire work. These are lovely silver earrings and I enjoy wearing them with casual and fancy outfits. The one thing I wish was different is that the wire was less curved at the top so the front would hang more vertically.

I was so sad when I lost my favorite stud earrings---garnets, of course, so I had to replace them and these garnet studs are a fantastic replacement. I have two lilac trees on my property. One produces light colored lilacs, and the other dark lilacs. I love them both, and while I do feel the ring is well represented by the photo on this site, the stone appears to be more of a dark lilac when on the finger and there's no light behind it to show off the color. As any good gem hound knows, the darker the stone, the better the quality. This ring is THE most luscious shade of green...exactly what you want in a peridot. (It's peridot, so it's a light green. But it's a dark light green. I've seen peridots that are so light they almost look clear.) Not to mention the gorgeous silver work. The band design is light and airy. I love this artist creations! Could I suggest please that you make more of your dangle earrings with leverbacks? It is easier and safer, so the backs won't get lost. Also, as a petite woman with short neck, could you make your earrings a little shorter in lenght? For me, anything longer than 1 1/2 inches is too long... 'Forest Glow', ring is as pictured. The peridot gem has a green color as pictured and has sparkle. The ring looks good worn on the ring or index finger. The ring design was created with finesse as can be seen by the proportions of the silver bands to each other, the small dots of silver at the setting, the size of the stone and high shine finish. I just received the ruby and moonstone earrings by Alok Jain. I had been eyeing these earrings for at least 6 months and finally ordered them. The marriage of the rubies and the moonstone are exquisite. The rubies surrounding the moonstone give just the right pop of color to make them noticeable. The moonstone seems to change colors at different angles to my eye. An added bonus is a large butterfly back that helps the earring not dangle due to it's weight. The design on the ring I received matches exactly the design in the photograph, so I was very pleased with that. The garnet is a beautiful deep red with much fire in it. Being an oval rather a round stone, its vertical placement seems just a bit tipped to the right, something that only its wearer would notice. The size of the ring is perhaps 1/4 size small, but it feels comfortable on my finger anyway. I will wear this ring with pride.

This ring is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. The peridot is cut in such a way that it sparkles from any angle. The paisley cut outs are so delicate and precise. They remind me of buds opening in early spring while the peridot reminds me is of these buds fragile green hue. I will be ordering more pieces by Alok Jain. Another reviewer reported that the silver is not uniformly shiny. This is true. The top side of the flower petals has some darker color which, in my opinion, allows one to better see and appreciate the detail. The ring is very attractive and certainly looks much more expensive than it is. My wife has a big job interview on Monday, and she says she is looking forward to wearing this ring to that interview. She is very good at what she does, and I'm not saying this ring will affect the interviewers' perceptions but, if it makes her feel a bit more confident, it cannot hurt!

“I joined Novica way back in 2002 when the company was just a couple of years old. I owe a lot to Novica. It has helped me shape my interest and my whole perception towards my work and craft. In the beginning, my product was just a piece of jewelry; now it has become a piece of art. My biggest achievement I feel is the recognition I get from my customers and the sense of satisfaction I get from my work. Nothing can be more satisfying than the feeling of doing what you want. I am financially much better, I know what quality really means and I am a better person altogether. “When I started with NOVICA 20 years back I used to have only one helper working for me on a part-time basis. Now after 20 years I have around 4 regular helpers who are working mainly for me, some of whom are totally dependent on me. I have gone through rough phases also where workers made bad quality jewelry and then disappeared, causing huge losses, but these things helped me learn. Sometimes trust is lost along with money, but that’s part and parcel of trying to do things in a different way. There is an attitude in India, chalta hai, meaning that “some flaws are acceptable”. I had to fight a lot, and I am still fighting with workers to get this attitude out of their head by explaining why any tiny mark on the silver or stone is not acceptable. Things are changing, albeit slowly. “Things have also developed a lot in my personal life. I have two beautiful daughters. One has completed her graduation and the other is still in school. Both of them have a very keen interest in jewelry and design. In fact, the elder one has started designing and is now a featured Novica artisan. “I want to keep on designing new styles and experiment with new stones. Jewelry is about fashion, and fashion keeps on changing. It also changes from region to region and among different age groups. I feel my style of jewelry is more fit for mature adults. I want to focus on this age group, but want to design for youngsters too. But I don’t want to lose my style just for the sake of selling, so I am trying to maintain the equilibrium. Hopefully Novica customers will keep on patronizing my designs. I want to give the best working atmosphere to my workers who are directly associated with me by providing them with the latest tools and technology. “To all my customers, I would like to say that by buying my products, you are not only helping me but a lot of workers and artisans who are working behind the scenes to make beautiful pieces with the best workmanship possible. Each and every purchase helps someone financially and motivates him or her to further create something new. All the workers and their families are really grateful to Novica and its patrons for their continued support.”

"My family has been involved in the realm of handicrafts for many years now. I was barely 17 years old when I realized I was completely immersed in the creation of handcrafted pieces, including sandalwood and brass items and jewelry, among others.

 

"Lately, I have been much more involved in the design of jewelry. I'm inspired by nature, hence you will find that most of my jewelry items feature natural motifs.

 

"My journey into handicrafts has been great, yet the highlight came in 1995, when the Sultan of Brunei placed an order for my designs! It was time bound, it took me and my artisan collaborators about two months to complete the order. All in all, it was a really exciting experience to be working all together.

 

"I always strive to improve designs and quality, and demand for my products has steadily increased. I hope and wish that my association with you will bring new opportunities."
