This beautiful small ambrosia sycamore dish has an undercut rim and raised foot. This sycamore wooden dish has one filled ambrosia beetle hole. The stripes of color in this sycamore ring dish come from a fungus deposited by the beetle as it chews it's way through the wood. Most people think of southern maple when they hear ambrosia but the beetles like sycamore too! A varied diet I suppose! This shallow sycamore dish looks like a sand painting. The colors are all earth tones.
Give this wooden dish as an anniversary gift or a birthday gift. Give this sycamore dish as a wedding gift or a bridesmaid gift. A sycamore ring dish is always a welcome present!
Food safe, natural, oil finish.
6 1/4" x 3/4"

My name is Stephen Sanders. I am a maker of wooden bowls, puzzles, cutting boards and other assorted things for over 50 years. My job is to make something I can be proud of and highlight the natural beauty of each piece of wood I work with. Everything in my store I have made by hand in my workshop in rural North Carolina. Most of my wood is locally sourced but I do work with some exotics from South America and Africa.
