Leonel Jolón
Bio
“My name is Hugo Leonel Jolón Yuc. I was born in 1989 in Antigua Guatemala, I am a calm and patient person. I really enjoy time with my family; but above all, I am a painter who dreams of making my art known to all the world. I grew up and lived with my parents in San Felipe de Jesús. Since I was little, I always liked to draw and express my emotions through art. At the age of 12 my uncle taught me to draw and paint in watercolor. It took me 3 years to learn the basic knowledge of art, and currently I have been working in this beautiful art for 17 years. It is a continuous learning experience. I also teach painting classes.
“Despite how difficult it has been to establish myself as an artist in Guatemala, I dream of continuing to work in this art and expanding my sales market. My greatest source of inspiration is my family. The most beautiful part is doing what I like and am passionate about, which is painting. What offers me the most challenges is doing personalized work when people only give me an idea of what they imagine. My art is related to the color of the typical costumes of my country. All the paintings are original, as each one has special details that make them unique.”
